Andrew Dickeson Trio | Tuesday 6 April
Drummer/bandleader Andrew Dickeson brings the swing and sounds of New York City to The Underground for NIMA on Tuesday, April 6. He will be joined by guitarist, Leo Larratt and Bassist, Jacob Graham. They will be playing their versions of classic standards along with popular and lesser-known Jazz compositions.
You can count on foot-tapping grooves and intense swing. This is music for the soul, to wash away the dirt of daily life and make you feel great!

Rambo is a funk fusion jazz band, drawing inspiration from the early jazz/funk greats of the 70’s, including Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, and The Brecker Brothers.

Pikou Panèz | Tuesday 27 April
Formed and creating in Muloobinba (Newcastle), on Awabakal/Worimi land; Pikou Panèz (‘ freckles’ in Breton) is fronted by the talented Mia Peters. Mia plays her great grandmothers guitar from Paris, her sound is expressive, lilting and powerful. The band brings both original tunes and covers inspired by folk, jazz, soul and Brazilian music.
PIKOU PANEZ use experimental elements and the songs are fresh and new. Each individual part uses challenging techniques, Mia’s authentic vocal sound is entrancing with vocal melodies doubled or contrasted creatively with saxophone lines. Solid bass lines are matched with groove and colour on the drums and percussion.
