Adam Miller Trio | Tuesday 6 December

With a unique approach to the guitar, Adam Miller's music is groovy and approachable, whilst having a melodic sophistication that only comes from years of cross genre hopping. His inclusion of complex rhythms and dissonant haunting phrases, combined with breathtaking riffs and melodies are his signature. His jazz infused style with finger-picking mastery creates an improvisation filled live performance that is beautifully unpredictable. This has seen him share stages with Les Paul, Tommy Emmanuel, Matt Schofield, Russell Morris, Charlie Hunter, Adam Levy, Ariel Posen, Joey Landreth, Josh Smith, Tomo Fujita, Tony McManus, Ben Gillies (Silverchair), and the list continues....

Miller has had a relentless international touring schedule the past few years which has seen him perform in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Japan, & Australia.

Martin Rotolo's Autotroph |
Tuesday 13 December

First discovered in 2008 by intrepid biologists in the fertile jungles of Glenrock, this strange sound-producing organism has grown exponentially, evolving new rhythms, harmonies and textures. Be warned - the entity's unpredictable compositions will infiltrate any ears in the vicinity, causing severe parasthesia and leaving the victim mesmerised for weeks after the encounter. For your own safety, approach with caution and don't forget your PPE!

Gareth Lewis – Saxophone

Jason Nelson – Trombone

Tim Merrikin – Bass

Tyson Hider – Drums

Martin Rotolo – Guitar

Jiem | Tuesday 20 December

NIMA Christmas Bash

Jiem is a contemporary jazz group that traverses gracefully between soft playfulness and brash intensity. Emerging out of Sydney’s jazz scene, close collaborators: Tessie Overmyer (saxophone), Miles Rooney (trumpet), Ryu Kodama (drums), Harry Birch (bass), and Matt Harris (Piano) mark an exciting new chapter in Australian Jazz. Their approach is varied and inventive, reminiscent of musical authorities such as Phil Slater, Simon Barker, Andrea Keller, and Jonathan Zwartz. The unique personalities and stylistic qualities of each member interact to form a synergetic ensemble sound that is far greater than the sum of its parts.

Miles Rooney – Trumpet

Tessie Overmyer – Saxophone

Matt Harris – Piano

Harry Birch – Upright Bass

Ryu Kodama – Drums
