About the Event
Darren Heinrich is one of Australia's most prominent jazz organists and has been performing on the Hammond B3 for 20 years. His latest album titled 'Riddle Diddle: The Prague Sessions' features outstanding Czech guitarist Libor Šmoldas and American drummer Jesse Simpson. Recorded in Prague, this album features 11 of Darren's compositions and sets a new bar for jazz organ trio music in Australia.
Sydney born, Heinrich holds the world’s first PhD in Jazz Organ Improvisation, brings crystal-clear articulation and dynamic sensitivity to eleven original compositions that honour and expand the organ trio tradition. He has studied with masters Tony Monaco and Dr Lonnie Smith.
The Prague Sessions reveal Heinrich’s distinctive compositional voice combining elegant structures with modern flourishes creating Heinrich's most definitive artistic statement to date.
