About the Event
This one-off Sunday night gig is a NIMA fundraiser for The Jacob Neale Jazz Awards with a percentage of ticket sales going directly towards the competition prize money. There will also be raffle prizes including CDs, NIMA tickets and more.
Aussie Gold Vol I is one of Daryl Aberharts most popular recordings, with its funky, sophisticated and artful rearrangements of ten all-time Australian radio hits. One of the most common questions Daryl gets asked year in, year out is “when might an Aussie Gold Vol II appear ?”. Well, while it won’t ever (at this stage) be formally tracked in a studio, Daryl will be presenting a new collection of classics, Aussie Gold Vol II with an all-star band and a very special international guest, composer and musician Sean Wayland from New York.
The night will feature two sets of Daryl doing his thing alongside his highly talented bassist daughter…
