About the Event
The Jeremy Burrows Trio is a new local jazz band rooted in the hard bop tradition, drawing inspiration from legendary rhythm section players like Art Blakey, Paul Chambers and Wynton Kelly. Known for their dynamic interplay, swinging grooves and inventive arrangements, this trio brings energy and sophistication to every performance.
Joining as a special guest is Newcastle vocalist Renée Bergér with her velvety tones and soulful style, inspired by jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, and Jane Monheit. Renee has performed alongside Australian legends such as Renée Geyer, Grace Knight, Marcia Hines and James Morrison, and regularly features at festivals.
Expect an evening of jazz standards, swinging blues and heartfelt ballads steeped in the classic hard bop tradition, with a soulful modern twist.
