About the Event
Cairns guitarist Mike Price is joining forces with a super creative rhythm section of Daryl Pratt on vibraphones, Cameron Undy on bass and Nick McBride on drums to deliver a modern, dynamic mix of contemporary classics and originals powered by decades of high‑level performance in Australia and around the world . Tunes by Scofield, Metheny, Stern & Abercrombie will set the scene for a varied & exciting program.
With a career spanning nearly forty years guitarist Mike Price has worked extensively across Australia and the USA. Between 1990 to 2013 he worked at the Australian National University as a lecturer, senior lecturer and Head of Jazz Studies.
Daryl Pratt is a former head of percussion at the Sydney Con. His performances spans elite jazz and classical genres with noteable collaborations including The Australian Art Orchestra (1994-2001), AtmaSphere (1991-2003), the Chad Wackerman Group (1997-2006) as well as Daryl’s own ensemble Sonic Fiction.
