Sydney-based Italian guitarist and composer Stefano Rocco leads this dynamic modern jazz quartet, taking audiences on a journey through introspective, cinematic soundscapes. With what has been described as a “cinematic and humanistic approach to jazz, creating soothing and heartwarming soundscapes” (Nikos Fotakis, australianjazz.net), the quartet crafts music that is both sophisticated and deeply expressive—pushing the boundaries of jazz while remaining grounded in tradition. The Stefano Rocco Quartet has released two albums, A New Night, A New Day (2020) and Wildlife (2025), featuring Rocco’s original compositions. With performances spanning Australia, Italy, Slovenia, Belgium, Germany and Denmark, the group continues to make a strong impression on the jazz scene.
