Tess is back from NYC to celebrate the release of her debut album drawing influence from a range of composers from Ornette Coleman to Philip Dizack to Chopin and Sibelius.
Tessie Overmyer has established herself as one of the most exciting, dynamic saxophone players in the Australian jazz scene. Originally from Newcastle, she is currently studying a Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Tessie’s skill and musicianship have been recognised in the form of a composer commission from ABC Jazz, and in being awarded second place in the National Jazz Awards.
