About the Event
Listeners can expect a super tight, exciting and dynamic jazz trio in the hard-bop style. Known for his crisp, hard-swinging style, Andrew Dickeson has been one of the foremost drummers on the Australian Jazz scene for over 30 years. He has played & studied in Australia before spending time in New York with jazz legends Art Taylor, Vernel Fournier and more recently Michael Carvin. Andrew has worked with many American Jazz stars such as Johnny Griffin, Junior Cook, Lee, Branford Marsalis, Eric Alexander, Charles McPherson, Eddie Henderson, Warren Vache and Kirk Lightsey, as well as practically everyone in the Australian scene. Andrew has appeared on around 100 CDs and has released four CDs as a leader - “Weaver of Dreams”, “Is That So?”, “The Song Is You” and
“GROOVE!” .
