About the Event
TL;DR is a Melbourne-based quartet brought together in 2024 by trumpeter, composer, and former Artistic Director of the Australian Art Orchestra, Peter Knight. Crossing generations, TL;DR includes some of the most influential younger musicians on the Melbourne scene: bassist/vocalist Helen Svoboda, guitarist Theo Carbo, and drummer Quinn Knight.
Their debut album earned an ARIA nomination for Jazz Release of the Year (2025)and was also included in the NYC Jazz Record Top 10 Albums of 2025. Influenced by John Hassell, The Necks, Eno, and swathes of electronic music, TL;DR creates hypnotic, minimal, groove-based jazz that is fresh and distinctive- spinning these influences into a sound that defies categorisation.
